Acupuncture Appointment Prep
Get the most out of your acupuncture session
Before Your Appointment
Follow these guidelines for the best treatment experience
Come As You Are
Clothes are provided for your comfort during treatment. If you don't want to change, wear loose clothing that can easily access your knees and arms.
Avoid Coming on an Empty Stomach
Eat a light meal 1-2 hours before your appointment. Especially avoid caffeine on an empty stomach. A light meal helps your body respond better to treatment.
Track Your Symptoms
Bring any questions or observations you would like to discuss with Shannon at your appointment. Keep patient intake information in IntakeQ/PracticeQ.
Prepare Questions
Write down any questions about your treatment or lifestyle recommendations.
After Your Appointment
Rest for 30-60 Minutes
Give your body time to integrate the treatment. Avoid strenuous activity immediately after.
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water to support the detoxification process.
Skip/Limit Alcohol & Caffeine
Avoid or limit alcohol and caffeine for 12 hours after treatment for optimal results.
Note How You Feel
Track any changes in your symptoms, energy levels, or overall wellbeing after treatment.
